International Anesthesiologists Visit the Department

On Oct. 25 a delegation of anesthesiologists from Latin American countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Peru, and Venezuela, visited our department. These distinguished guests, attending the ASA Convention in New Orleans, LA, were interested in observing Mindray anesthesia machines being used in the complex, challenging and demanding clinical arena of a large academic medical center. Mindray marketing directors from the Latin and North American corporate offices coordinated the visit and chartered a bus to bring them to UMMC.

Upon arrival, they were greeted with lunch and a presentation about our department, including a very interesting “Q&A” discussion session. Small groups were formed to provide everyone brief facility tours. They enjoyed the opportunity to speak to Clinicians about our Mindray machines; device integrations; workflows and our amazing variety of services that support the healthcare of our community and Mississippi. Feedback from the group was overwhelmingly complimentary of the impressive work of our Department; the generous hospitality, and the warm welcome by everyone they met.
